Hamburg Completes Deal with Cocaine Player
Hamburg Hockey Club Stands Behind Australian Player Tom Craig Amid Cocaine Scandal
The German hockey club Hamburg Polo has completed its deal with Australian player Tom Craig, who was arrested in Paris after being accused of attempting to buy cocaine on the sidelines of the Paris Olympics.
According to the club's board member, Freddy Nies, the team is standing firmly behind Craig, saying "We are one hundred percent behind our player." Nies added that the team will have talks with Craig soon, and after that, they will decide how to move forward.
Craig, who won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has already been released from custody after being arrested by French police on Tuesday evening. He has apologized for his actions, calling them a "grave mistake".
In a statement to the media, Craig said, "My actions are my own and in no way reflect the values of my family, teammates, club, friends, and the Australian Olympic team. I have let everyone down and I am truly sorry.
